Admitted by ambulance to A&E early hours of 16 October 2014. Paramedics stated I was presenting with a gastric ulcer. The department was very quiet and there were plenty of staff on duty. I was seen quickly but although in very obvious pain (I was quite literally writhing in agony on the trolley) I had to beg for pain relief (was given 1 Tramadol and had to ask for a second one when that gave no relief at all) An ECG and bloods were taken and after being left in a side room for 2 or more hours, I was told to go home. I was still in agony but the staff shrugged their shoulders and told me to call a taxi from the waiting area. They acted like I was an inconvenience to them. Update: on 28 Nov I was admitted through Worcester Royal A&E with similar pains, this time also with jaundice. Turned out to be gall stones, cholecystitis and obstructive jaundice. I was in hospital for 4 days and on a drip. Well done Worcester, a wonderful hospital. Black mark for the Alex!
