"Care between appointments"

I have been a patient under the care of the WEH for over 20 years and always found the care to be excellent. In recent years, it has been an annual appointment but recently having experienced a problem with my eyes ( I have kerataconus & had corneal grafts a few years ago) on the advice of my GP contacted the hospital to see if I could bring my appointment forward. The contact lens secretary was excellent, returning my call within the hour and suggesting an extra appointment, which was arranged within a month. The confirmation letter was duly received and on the day I attended, having been told I might have to wait as they were 'fitting me in', I arrived at the hospital at about 08.30, was seen by a nurse within 15 minutes and was with the doctor just after 9am. The care was excellent, the doctor took time to discuss the changes in my eye, carefully examined the eyes and consulted a senior colleague to confirm my treatment. Medication was changed, further care advice given & hopefully, things are looking up. There we're no significant delays at the pharmacy and all in all, I left the hospitalfeeling much more confident that my eye condition was being carefully treated. All in all, excellent service from the entire team, many thanks to you all, you are a great credit to the NHS & it's core values. I would highly recommend this hospital to any other patient needing specialist care for their eyes.
