"Extraction Service Excellent - Very Happy thanks"

About: The Eastman Dental Hospital

I went to have a tooth extracted. The dental service was brilliant, didn't feel a thing and the staff were friendly and professional.. I'd recommend the service to others. There was one minor issue which was resolved successfully - I arrived on time, and 'checked in' but needed to go out to put a second lock on my bike. I'd asked the receptionist how long the wait would be and that left me thinking I'd be Ok to pop out for a few mins. By the time I returned, which was still within 15 mins of my actual appointment time (which is allowed for lateness), I was told my appointment was cancelled because I was late. After some kerfuffle amongst myself, reception, dental staff and, who I presume were, management, my appointment was allowed to go ahead, albeit with the patient (me) a little most stressed than should have been. One strange thing was that it wasn't busy (only two others waiting), it was nearly closing time though. Other than that, all was great! Moral of the story is, turn up on time and stay in the waiting room or it may causes some admin/procedural issues. If you do need to pop to the loo or something, make sure the receptionist is fully aware. The scenario could have been avoided with a quick call to my mobile but I guess that's not in their handbook of customer care. p.s. I'm booking in for another extraction which shows I'm still happy :)

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're so pleased you were happy with the care and attention you received at the Eastman Dental Hospital and will feed this back. However we are sorry sorry to hear about your recent experience of the outpatient reception service. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3447 3042 so that we can look into this.
