"When I attended my endocrinologist appointment I..."

About: Southmead Hospital

When I attended my endocrinologist appointment I was stunned to be told that despite my thyroid levels being unstable I was being discharged from the department. I could not understand why this is. When I told the consultant I had difficulty swallowing and could feel a swelling at the front of my neck she did not bother to examine me and shrugged it off, saying the thyroid medication will sort it out. This is even when the first thyroid ultrasound I had said it was mildly enlarged and vascular! Most disappointing. I am tempted to look for an endocrine specialist elsewhere.
