I have been attending the Victoria Unit since September 2013 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. From the moment I first attended after discovering a breast lump I felt reassured and 'safe' in the care of all the staff who attended me there. Everything was explained fully, I was treated with care and consideration for my situation, staff worked quickly and efficiently but with friendliness and compassion. Following surgery I have been attending the unit for chemotherapy treatment and I cannot praise the Chemotherapy Nurses enough for dealing so well with my anxiety, encouragement and positive attitude all the way through the months of treatment. I still attend until January 2015 to receive 3-weekly Herceptin injections. I chose to have these at the unit rather than at home as I can talk to the nurses about any side effects or other concerns I may have as I travel on my journey. A big thank you to them all.
