"Pointless appointment. What a waste of time!"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

I turned up to an appointment today being the 24th November 11:15AM at the ENT department where I sat on my own waiting for an hour. Several other people were called in before me, even though I had turned up before them and was 20 minutes early for my appointment. I was called into the doctor last! And minutes prior to this, I asked at reception if I was there for an X-ray as (at this point I was unaware that I hadn't received an appointment from Radiology to have a barium swallow). And the actual appointment I had gone to today was merely a follow up; which the staff there had failed to let me know and just let me sit there like a lemon for an hour giving me confused looks. And when I was actually called in to see the doctor, all she did was smirk and thought it was somewhat amusing. Needless to say, I walked out in a pretty livid mood. Somebody from booking services must have seen that I hadn't had the barium swallow on the system and why couldn't they have let me know via text or phoning me? Either that or the Dr I initially saw, hadn't sent the referral through in the first place! I haven't even received an appointment for this even though it has been 7 weeks since my initial appointment with ENT. Thanks for wasting my morning, my time, my money for a taxi and completely humiliating me (when I already have anxiety problems, etc.) Not such a ''pleasant girl'' now, eh? I mean wow, what a derogative comment to make about someone who is 3 years off being 30; ''Young woman'' would have been just fine ''boy''! Doesn't sound nice, does it?!
