"Emergency surgery within 9 hours after arriving at..."

I came to the Accident & Emergency Department late on Saturday 30th August with severe abdominal pain and fever, and within an hour I had had my urine and blood tested and was sent to x-ray, and quickly diagnosed as having appendicitis. Nine hours later my appendix had been removed and I was in the recovery ward. I cannot thank the staff at Darent Valley Hospital enough for the treatment I was given and how quickly I received it. All of the nurses did a brilliant job and I felt like I was in very safe hands at all times. It was the first time I've had to spend overnight in hospital and the first time I've had an operation, and I thank the staff at Darent Valley Hospital for making it as comfortable an experience as possible in the circumstances.
