"I'm scared of the clinic, in case I am admitted"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

My fear of coming into out-patients is far greater than the need for treatment, knowing I may be admitted and placed onto either ward 2 or 4.

I would rather suffer in pain to the point that even my controlled drugs do not make a difference. My last visit and admission back in April 2009 was so traumatic for me knowing that I may be transferred to the above mentioned wards.

I am suffering from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder / combat stress) but the staff on ward 14 were brilliant especially Des, Hollie, Debs and Cathy. Des deserves a special mention because of her exceptional bedside manner.

The reason for my admission was that I contracted MRSA, I believe from a previous hospital visit at another hospital.
