Hi everyone. I saw the consultant regarding a shoulder problem. I found him to be very courteous and explicit in telling me the problem. I was very lucky to be offered a cancellation for surgery and so came into Dickens Ward the following week. From the moment I arrived on the ward, everyone was very pleasant, not just kind and caring but your nurses also had a sense of humour. When I went down to theatre, again the various doctors/anaesthetist were all very chatty which helped to put my mind at rest. I think I may have been a bit cheeky to the doctor in the recovery room but he laughed it off! Your 'trolley ladies' were also very, very polite, patient and attentive and there was certainly nothing wrong with the food they served. If I have to say one negative thing, and I'm not sure what you could do about it, it's the lack of sleep post op due to lighting/noise going on around the wards, but even that may have been a good thing as I used the time to do some physio. Oh forgot the physio girls, they were lovely too. Well done Dickens Ward, not had the need to have many hospital stays but quite enjoyed it really and the bonus is my shoulder is amazing. Thank you all x
