"Severe anxiety/depression"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool Merseyside

(as the patient),

I was referred to IM by my GP for CBT and then counselling. I didn't get the full amount of sessions of either because my scores weren't improving so I was discharged by IM from both courses. I have since been back to my GP, had a psychiatric assessment and they asked if I wanted to come back to IM? I was also told that because I had a period of drink dependency, IM couldn't deal with that. This obviously not the fault of IM or the counsellors but it hasn't worked for me unfortunately.

Dear Sisco,

I'm sorry to hear that on this occasion therapy hasn't worked for you. Sometimes we do recommend that people have help from specialist services such as the alcohol team before having psychological therapy. At other times it isn't unusual for people to have several trys at therapy before gaining the full benefit.

If you would like to access the service again you can self refer by calling 0151 228 2300. Or, if you wish to have a chat about how we might be able to help feel free to contact me on the same number.

Best wishes

Tracey
