"Great care for Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulator Implants"

Recently I have had a second Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulator fitted at The Walton Centre in Liverpool. At every moment during my stay in hospital I was made to feel at home, and was re-assured at every stage. The procedure itself was made easier by the level of confidence and professionalism each staff member showed, but they still made me feel human, and ensured I was kept informed at every stage. The actual procedure itself is not a pleasant one, as it done under local anaesthetic due to having to place leads near to my nerves and to monitor the level of stimulation received. Each member of staff introduced themselves and would answer any question put to them.

I cannot praise the staff enough both in the theatres and on Chavasse ward for the level of care given. The staff were happy in their work, and it made a painful time a lot better by their happy outlook on everything. I have had several follow up appointments and some of these have been unscheduled due to needing some re-programming of the stimulation levels, and again each member of the pain nurses are excellent. They must be under a lot of pressure but it never shows, and each patient is given the time they need to feel re-assured and to have the relevant treatment.

I have recommended The Walton Centre as an option for treatment to others, due to the level of care, support and understanding I have been shown during my operations, and my outpatient treatment.

I cannot say enough in support of the nurses and consultants, they are professional, understanding and caring, and always take the time to re-assure patients who are very often in pain, and they will go the extra mile in ensuring patients are treated like people who are friends.
