About: Leicester General Hospital

My husband had to go into ward 10 as his kidneys were failing and he was struggling to breathe,he has an extreme phobia of hospitals and because of this it was very hard to treat him. However the doctors and nurses were extremely patience with him.Sometimes i wondered how they found the patience,he was put on ward 17 for 2 weeks where he could not have wished for better treatment, the staff from the cleaners upwards looked after him so well that he couln't have got better if he had paid private. He is still recieving on going treatment which isn't easy for him,we both cannot thank everyone and give enough praise, thank you .God bless the NHS.

Dear reviewer, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your husband's experience with us. It is never nice to go into hospital, and especially hard if you are scared of hospitals. We are delighted however, to hear that everyone on ward 10 and ward 17 took great care of him. We have passed your kind words onto the matron and ward sisters for both wards so they can share this with the wider team - this will really boost morale :-) It's clear that our staff exemplified the Trust Values. If you would like to go the extra mile to say thank you, why not nominate them for a Caring at its Best award via our website http://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/aboutus/our-purpose-strategy-and-values/caring-at-its-best-awards/public-nomination-form/ Wishing you and your husband all the best, Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
