About: Princess Of Wales Hospital

(as the patient),

Both my wife and I feel that ABM NHS Trust at POW Hospital show a complete lack of consideration to patient attention and care, my wife is becoming more and more terrified, she has been to the POW for numerous tests but none of the results have been explained to her in the depth that is required for reassurance.

She is in constant pain but not one consultant at the POW has reassured her, and there is a breakdown in communication back to the GP.

I have been examined by a consultant at the POW on the 20th FEBRUARY, and was informed by the consultant I required major surgery, which in itself is a worry. At the end of March my wife was informed over the telephone they could not give a date when surgery was to carried out and our GP was required to write to the consultant, so I made an appointment to see the GP and he has written to the POW, we are still waiting for a date.

Surely the POW has a list of the operations required by the consultant concerned and he has a fairly accurate time scale required for each operation. Therefore why can't the administration at this hospital inform patients when they can expect to be operated on? I was informed by my GP this was urgent, what is the difference between urgent and emergency??
