"Excessive charges make for a nasty sting in the..."

About: Glenfield Hospital

I cannot fault the staff or my healthcare, it's always brilliant. What I can't stand is being charged £10 a day to watch TV and a restricted Internet service, again paid for, that doesn't allow patients to stream tv on mobile devices. As a patient who requires long spells in with long periods staring at the walls this is simply not acceptable and is what is rotten about a contracted service that the hospital will no doubt say they have little to do with. I have the resources to pay, what about those who can't? I'm guessing because it isn't a government target the supplementary patient experience is not essential.

Dear Dan, Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts with us. We are pleased to hear you experienced a high level of care :-) We have been in touch with our IM&T department who have informed us that as a Trust, we are looking at the provision of the TV services going forward as we do realise they currently fall short of patients expectations. The replacement of the current service is complicated and costly, but we are looking at the best option to take this forward sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we are also going to make improvements to the patients Wi-Fi services. This is currently being trialled but we hope to make it free for patients to use as soon as possible. Kind regards Commmunications Team Leicester's Hospitals
