"Ward C5"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

I am writing to express grateful thanks for the care our mother Marian Fisk received from all the staff on this ward. Throughout Marians illness, she was treated with the upmost care and compassion. When she needed end of life care, after she did not respond to medical intervention, the staff treated her at all times with diginity and respect. As a family, we were given lots of support and allowed the space and time to spend with our mother in her last days and we will always be grateful. Marian Fisk stayed on this wonderful ward from 29.09.2014 to 09.10.2014

Response from Royal Blackburn Hospital

Dear Ms Walker Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our C5 ward, and thank-you for taking the time to do so especially when you have so recently lost your mother. I will make sure your appreciation is passed onto the team, who will be really touched to hear your kind words about their care for your mother. I am very pleased to hear that your recent experience with us was really positive as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this such a good experience of care for your family we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and services. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471/ 01254 733704 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. Once again many thanks and condolences to you and your family at this time Wendy Stobbs, Patient Experience Facilitator
