Hi,

This is the full story.

I had rather severe chest pain on Friday 17/10/14 and as I have a history of heart problems dialled 111. Explained what was happening and they called an ambulance for me and I was taken to NNH.

I would like to praise the ambulance men who attended. They were very professional and caring and friendly. They did and ECG took blood pressure, tested for blood sugar levels and put me at ease.

They recommended that the best course of action was for them to take me to NNH for a blood test which would help determine what was happening with my heart.

We arrived at casualty at approximately 2.30pm and was immediately seen and booked in by a staff nurse. Then was taken to resuss for another ECG and placed in a cubicle in the escalation area. Was there for approx. 30-45 mins. and then taken to casualty area.

Was immediately attended by what I think was a Student nurse? who did some obs.

Very quickly seen by staff nurse who took bloods. Very soon seen by a lady doctor who took a history and explained what was going to happen next. Was sent to assessment unit where more obs were taken and a consultant attended me and discussed options. Was allowed to leave hospital at approx. 10.45pm.

I can't speak more highly of the treatment I received. Everyone I came into contact with was very professional very friendly and caring and I noticed the same was true for other patients both in casualty and on the ward.

I congratulate you and your staff for making my visit so stress free and positive experience.
