"I felt I was a second class patient"

About: Spire Liverpool Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

After undergoing a fairly basic procedure at this hospital as an NHS referral, I had to stay in overnight. Being a private hospital, I expected treatment might be very good however I was left needing the toilet for hours & in terrible pain, my partner was not informed how I was doing & I had to ask him to help me to the toilet when he arrived as nobody else had responded to my requests.

I couldn't reach my blanket to cover myself up & my room was next to an open door which was very cold. No requests for help after pressing the buzzer appeared.

I felt I was a second class patient because I was an NHS referral. Even the reception staff made you feel this way. The consultant was good though.
