"Delivery suite/labour ward"

I recently had my second child at Warrington. The care on delivery suite was excellent. Our midwife was very caring and supportive. Unfortunately we had a very long wait for a baby check the following day (Saturday) which meant we stayed in for much longer than necessary. We had very little contact with staff all day and no explanations or updates were given with regards to the delay. It would be better if the midwives could be trained to do the checks themselves, or if the baby checks could be done first thing in the morning by the night paediatric doctor, which was the case in the hospital where I had my first baby.
