During September 2014, following a long haul flight, I was extremely concerned that I may have developed a DVT in my leg. As my husband had previously suffered this, as well as Pulmonary Emboli, unfortunately I had some knowledge of the insidious nature of these medical conditions. I have to say that from the moment we went into A&E close to midnight, were recalled urgently in the early hours of the next morning to have a Clexane injection, and attended for an ultrasound in I think Ward 14 located on the 4th Floor, I could not have received more professional treatment carried out in the most professional, warm, caring manner by everyone. Everyone I saw was wonderful, but I cannot thank enough the doctor who saw me - no, "looked after me" - at A&E, and the Nurse Practitioner who again "looked after me" the next day. Normally a person in charge of her emotions, I must say that this was a frightening time and it would just have been so much worse but for the extreme empathetic nature of these people. They also showed kindness to my husband who was obviously concerned. Thank you for being there; and to the Nurse Practitioner, I hope to see you on the beach one day!
"Great service provided by professional, empathetic..."
