I attended the orthopaedic clinic (hip speciality) for investigation of chronic hip (SI joint) and back pain. The consultant spent about 5 minutes with me, failed to listen to my description of my symptoms and barely undertook any physical examination at all. The consultant then came to the conclusion (based on what evidence I'm really not sure) that I didn't need an orthopaedic surgeon and I should continue with the physio. The physio referred me there in the first place! The consultants bedside manner was also very poor. When asked if they could explain why I was getting referred nerve pain all over my body, their only answer was that they couldn't. Overall a very disappointing appointment and a complete waste of time.
