"I couldn't have done it without them"

About: Bassetlaw Rural Children's Centre

(as a service user),

Fantastic help from SureStart workers with weaning my little boy. I was so very scared about giving him food - Emma Fox and Lisa (who run my local SureTots group) offered me so much advice and help with this - for the first few weeks I was only confident giving my baby boy solids at my SureTots group and not at home!

After Emma and Lisa had introduced something to me and my son, be it banana, or toast - I would only give him that until I saw them next when we were onto the next things and so on! Until, he was eating everything in sight.

If it wasn't for them, this process would have taken a lot longer, and would have been awful for both me and my son. With their help and guidance, I felt confident to progress on my own. They were brilliant and I couldn't have done it without them!

Dear CatherineC

Thank you for letting us know of the support the Children's Centre was able to give you when weaning your son. Good eating habits are so important when weaning children and your son is off to a great start eating everything in sight!

I am sure Emma and Lisa will be delighted with your feedback and this will give them even more confidence as they go on to support more parents through that exciting stage.

I hope you will continue to attend your local centres to enjoy support

kind regards
