You have to have been there to believe this place. I'm not going to spend the amount of time needed to reflect the ingrained systemic "low bar" ethos evident in this facility. Interestingly the staff are exceptionally pleased with themselves. Got admitted from A&E on to an orthopaedic ward , probably within the 4hrs target I've read that they are constantly failing on and remain in breach of the terms of their Licence issued in Jan 2013, but, honestly, I wasn;t counting.. Probably got stuffed onto the ortho ward because the target threshold was going to be breached. Cant fault them on this one : they initially decided not commence treatment until they could have a meeting with colleagues in Endocrinology and I was placed on an Urgent Internal Referral for 3 days - my entire stay - before I checked out (eventually with their blessing). Had to dress my own wounds while on the ward and was left without a sterile dressing for 12 hours until I could build up my stash of unattended dressings to do it myself with tape, sanitary towels and bandage. to be cont.
