"Audiology/ent department"

About: Queen Marys Hospital (Sidcup)

Attended an appointment recently in the ent/audiology department. Considering the majority of patients were hard of hearing, nurses shouting out names and hoping the patients responded seemed ridiculous as few people were able to make out what was being shouted. Consultant conducted his consultation by not looking at his patient and muttering into his chest, maybe if he looked at his patient and ennouciated his words it would be more likely they could make out what he was saying. Although his whole manner was discourteous, patronising, rude, dismissive and disrespectful. He was asked when a hearing aid would be available and his reply was 'well you have been deaf this long'. Not the reply that was expected from a professional.
