"It should not have taken so long"

I called 111 for advice after waking up feeling very dizzy, the room was spinning around and I was feeling sick. It all calmed down after about half an hour but the dizziness had not completely disappeared, that’s when I called them because I did not think it was right I should be feeling this way.

The person who answered the phone went through a long list of questions, some of which seemed very silly to me but she said it was important to go through all the questions. I’m not sure I answered them all correctly as I’m elderly and the dizziness was making me feel very confused. I know they do their best but I don’t feel they have the right level of expertise. In the end she assigned a doctor to me and said a doctor would call and see me at home.

It was six hours before a doctor came, and that was after I called 2-3 times. The doctor was not the one who had been assigned to me, not sure why. The lady doctor who came was very good, very thorough and gave me tablets to stop the dizziness but it should not have taken so long!
