I underwent a keyhole gallbladder removal on 4th September. I arrived as instructed at 7 am and was immediately taken through to get changed and go through some admin. Then the registrar, consultant and anaesthetist individually came and explained what was going to happen. They all took time to explain thoroughly and answered all my questions. Then i was walked down to the operating theatre and jumped up on the bed. That was dead on 8.30 as I could see the clock, next thing I was waking up at 10 am in the recovery room with a very sore throat but no other pain. I was monitored for about 3 hours then my husband came and collected me and after being given painkillers to take away and I sick cert, my only gripe would be the admin before the surgery, I was only sent the info on the Saturday for surgery the following Thursday so very little time to arrange things. No real pain since, just soreness but glad its over Mr dutta and his team were very friendly and professional and I thank them for helping me
