I spent 3 weeks in hospital due to gallstones last year. I had obstructive jaundice and became very ill. To cut a long story short, I had to wait 8 months to have the op. I was in and out of A&E at least twice a week with the pain. I was constantly on morphine and tramadol. I cannot see the logic in me having to wait that long and why I had to endure the pain and illness for so long.
This week I was taken to A&E with chest pain and difficulty breathing. I was left in a corridor for over 2 hours. No one came to attend to me.
Once I was approached by a nurse who asked me who I was. He then proceeded to get my paperwork. On this paperwork were notes regarding my reason for my visit to the hospital. I was gobsmacked. Apparently I was in for abdominal pain due to gall stones. Considering I was there for chest pain and breathing problems I found this to be outrageous. They couldn't even seem to ensure they had the right info about me.
I won't ever use New Cross Hospital if I'm in desperate need of medical attention in the future.
