"Problems with access to LCH services - Treatment Rooms"

About: Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I needed my ears syringing so called my GP and was to told to come in and see the nurse. The nurse confirmed that my ears were blocked and gave me a number to call for an appointment (treatment rooms service). She told me it would be best to call tomorrow as it takes a while for the referral to be processed. I was frustrated by this as in the past I would just have them syringed in the surgery and not have to go through this process. Thinking that there might be an alternative, I visited 2 Walk In Centres and a Chemist, and was told the same thing.

I think this system is idiotic and time wasting and don't understand why I can't just get my ears syringed at my GP surgery.
