"Non emergency visit to A & E"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

Having sustained an injury to my eye and being unable to see a doctor in my local surgery, I felt it was sensible to obtain some medical advice regarding the accident and possible ramifications. I therefore visited A & E at about mid day today and was immediately seen by reception and 'logged in' Almost before I had finished the lovely tea and cake provided by The League of Friends I was seen by a member of the department who undertook the examination. He kept me informed throughout the procedures and was able to advise me all was well. I can only say how lucky I am to live within a few miles of such a splendid hospital where I have in the past had various other treatments for sports injuries and have always been dealt with promptly and courteously in spite of the relative minor nature of the problems. I can also remember my two daughters arriving in the World 36 and 26 years ago so my favorable view of the hospital goes back a long time! Well done all. Its all to easy to complain but compliments should also be given when deserved. Yours sincerely R H Lewis

Many thanks for your extrememly kind comments made following your recent visit to our Emergency Department. Our staff try very hard to provide a high standard of care to all our patients and therefore we were pleased to hear that you felt his aim had been achieved on this occasion. I will ensure that your kind comments are shared with the appropriate staff as I am certain they also will be most appreciative. Once again, many thanks for taking the time to provide us with this important and positive feedback and may I take the opportunity to wish you very best wishes for the future. Kind regards Deborah Furness, member of the Patient Experience Team for Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
