"I have nothing but admiration "

About: Cockermouth Community Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

My problem is associated with the prostate gland. Having had little contact with the District Nursing Organisation, my observation on this is limited! However, I have nothing but admiration for the people who I came into contact with and all of them reflected credit on the NHS. My only advice I can offer is do not interfer with something that is working well and submitt the following:

We trained hard...........but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up in teams we would be reorganised. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganising, and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralisation.

Thank you for taking the time to add your comments to this website. I am pleased to read that your experience of the District Nurses was such a positive one. The NHS works hard to improve its services where necessary to ensure that patients receive the best quality of care available. I am delighted that you pleased with the care that you received on this occasion.
