About: Rotherham Hospital

After a visit to A &E with chest and back pain I was escorted to the cdu department on B level to wait for my blood and x ray results . However although the staff were good .I was offered breakfast and a got drink but was ask to sit in the bay window of the ward and wait there . And I did for 3 hours!!! There were 3 empty beds and I wasn't even offered so much as a comfortable chair .only a hard uncomfortable one used for patient visitors .

Hello, my name is Anne Crompton and I am Deputy Chief Nurse at TRFT. I am sorry to learn of your poor experience of care here at TRFT and have passed your comments about CDU directly to Matron Shireen Say who is responsible for that area and can look into the provision of more comfortable chairs for patients immediately. I accept that you should not have had to sit on a hard uncomfortable chair for three hours and I am very sorry that this occurred.
