"Surprisingly impressed"

About: Watford General Hospital

Emergency admission and surgery. Throughout my stay all staff I came into contact with: Ambulance crew, physicians, surgeons, nurses, ancillary staff, cleaners; In A&E, Cassio ward, Flaunden ward, ESAU, follow up phone calls were excellent. They were professional, efficient, competent, but more impressive they were cheeful, smiling, good humoured, friendly & helpful. Verbal & non verbal language was amazing. Sadly one nurse on Flaunden ward caused me extreme concern. She was a liability and danger to patient care. English was limited, but of more concern was her inability to grasp the simplest instructions or to carry out basic nursing procedures, giving her colleagues extra work. But that is just one person. I cannot speak too highly of everyone else. Nothing seemed too much bother, in spite of demanding workloads. Thank you to all.
