What I liked

nothing apart from the treatment by the consulatant

What could be improved

admin. my appointment for entrance on the ward was for 6.30 i phoned before i left home and was told the bed was available. i was then told when i got there that I would nor be seen till the afternoon. due to admin problems.

nurses and staff did not have a clue what each were doing. Did not know who had taken my pulse and when. Water was set on my table then taken away straight away by someone else. nobody seemed clear as to waht was happening. I was berated by a male nurse because i should have know to tell him that my blood pressure had just been taken so he did not need to take it again. No co ordination. nobody ever came back to take my final blood pressure so I could know if i could go home and the drip needle was left in my arm. Sloppy at best.

Anything else?

When a dishevelled old man came to take me to a room to have my varicose vein marked up for my operation the room i was led into already had two men in there and a large woman in a camel coat with fake fur on and a red umbrella enterd as well. she was hung her coat on the back on the door and moaned that she was late as there had been another lorry overturned on the road. none of these peoplespoke or introduced themselves to me. I was told my the dishevelled gentleman to take my trousers and sox off. He did not even bother to address me by name or even look at me. I had to take my clothes off in front of the four of them in a very small room. i was feeling humiliated and upset by this time. The large women went on talking as the dishevelled man ushered me onto a high chair. He the continued a conversation with the Japaness men about soft ware and how hehad designed it. leaving me sitting on the high chair half naked. the large woman came and went and left the door a jar. outside there was a row of people sitting down waiting, no doubt for her, they could see me and i could see them as I was standing on the high chai. i cried and said that the this was very unprofessional. I continued to cry as the two men tried to follow the large woman out of the door. again exposing me to the waiting people. The dishevelled man then made some mumbled excuse about an emergency. there was not one. that was a lie as i had heard every thing that had been spoken i of in that room. The dishevelled man then disagreed with me about which leg I was having operated on. I had to point out the scars on my leg to make him realise that my right leg had been operated on the year before and my left leg was the one that obviously needed to be operated on.He then mumbled something about having to start again and then took ages to mark the leg. The marks were later added to my doctor as the vein on my foot had not been marked up.
