"I actually felt at ease and feel confident"

(as the patient),

I had dental treatment here for the first time two days ago.

I’ve always been terrified and had bad experiences at dentists. At Todmorden I was put at ease, everything was explained to me and I was shown what they were planning to do. I have sensitive teeth so they said they would use warm water to rinse my mouth and warm air when treating me.

I can’t praise them enough, I actually felt at ease and feel confident I would use them again.

The one thing they could do with is air conditioning! We were all so hot! !

Firstly may I apologise for the heat at Todmorden we are trying extremely hard to resolve this problem for both the dental team and our team next door in the GP practice. Unfortunately we do not own the building and we also need to meet regulations around infection control, but I can assure you the matter is being looked into as a matter of urgency.

Secondly thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I can sympathise with you over bad experiences at dentists and I wish I had been referred to our service. I do know our staff do all they can to make people feel as relaxed and as comfortable as possible during treatment, I also know how great it is for them when someone acknowledges their hard work.
