"They looked after my mam in her final hours"

To Staff at ACU North Tees Hospital August 2nd 2014 Shocked and stunned loved ones of a dying lady were treated with respect and care. The patient, my mam was given dignity and her family spent crucial time with her when it mattered. They informed our family of her condition and kept her comfortable with appropriate drugs. For these nurses it's everyday work, for us it was once in a lifetime but they managed to find the right words and actions and as a family we are forever grateful that a stretched underfunded, overworked group of people can night after night do such an important job.
