I think I have suffered from depression, anxiety and low self esteem from a very young age. This has affected my whole life, from the friendships that I build with my friends to allowing myself to be in more than one emotionally and in some cases physically damaging relationships.
Inclusion matters, particularly the CBT sessions that I have had has helped me not only to put my life back together, but also help me to grow and achieve my full potential, working towards it anyway.
I'll admit, my mind was fighting new ways of thinking for the first half of the sessions, but my therapist assured me that this was perfectly normal and to be expected. Somewhere around half way I literally felt things start to click. I believe in myself now, I know how to stand up for myself where before I would just let people walk all over me, or if they were unkind I would believe them and beat myself up about things. If someone is making me feel nervous or paranoid, I have learned to ask myself if maybe they are in some way feeling threatened by me, or jealous, or have they simply taken things the wrong now. Before I would have beaten myself up and felt really awkward and uncomfortable. This has made a huge difference.
I am ok with myself as a human being now, even on bad days with the depression, I'm not as unkind to myself as I would once have been. My life has been changed massively for the better, and I actually cannot believe it.
