I have been on several occasions with my child and have had the most wonderful staff giving great and helpful advice on how to treat various ailments, but the only thing that lets the team down is the Receptionist! As a fully trained and working Receptionist myself I know full well that if I spoke to, looked at and damn well disrespected the people that I was talking to I would be given the sack on the spot!! And also the wording of the notice in Reception about late cancellations is totally inappropriate in a hospital setting....people cannot help cancelling at short notice, so to an elderly, frail or fragile person that would put the fear of god into them....sorry to be blunt!!

Thank you for your postive feedback about the physiotherapy staff, and please accept our apologies that you felt the receptionist was not respectful. In order to ensure this is discussed with the correct staff (as there are several reception areas in the hospital) it would be helpful to check with you which reception desk you used. If you could let our Customer Care Team know by email or phone we'd appreciate it. In the meantime we are reviewing the wording on the posters used. Obviously we want to reduce the number of people not attending appointments, but we understand this message needs to be communicated sensitively, as we do appreciate that occasionally people may be too ill to attend their appointment.
