"Lack of communication / test results"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

Admitted to Good Hope in July, sickness, diarrhoea, etc. Sample taken during day - told results expected after 4 days. 4 days later told 7 days - 7 days later told my sample had been lost.

Another sample taken, but I was discharged before results expected. I have telephoned and left message - no reply. The results may or may not show what is wrong - either way I need to know.

Still have diarrhoea - what am I supposed to do now?

The doctors and nurses were all extremely kind and understanding. But communication could've been improved.

My problem has been dealt with extremely quickly and efficiently - thank you.

All of the staff that I saw at Good Hope Hospital were dedicated, professional, caring and so very kind. With teams like this, and leadership provided by those such as Ann-Marie Riley, the head nurse, this hospital is turning itself round and becoming one that all of the community can be proud of.

On behalf of the Trust, I am sorry that your initial sample was lost and I am sorry to hear that you have have not as yet been provided with the results of your sample.
