"Week stay"

I was bought into the hospital last week in an ambulance. The doctors admitted me immediately, put me on a drip and antibiotics and I was in exploratory surgery hours later!!! They discovered an internal bleed and infection. During my illness the treatment and appreciation to all the staff at RUH Bath could not be higher. I thank the doctors for investigating my symptoms so quickly and many staff working through the night to save my life!!!!!! The nurses on the Charlotte Ward were amazing. They were extremely professional, helpful and cheery. There was always a nurse available at any time throughout my weeks stay. They were so available I only needed my call button once, to get someone to detach me from my drip in the middle of the night to go to the toilet!!! The menu choices were excellent and the simple but well cooked meals were exactly the sorts of things I needed to make a good recovery. Meals were always hot and again the catering staff and cleaning staff were amazing. The healthcare assistants are a real asset to the hospital and some of my favourite staff who nursed me back to health. Nothing was ever too much trouble and I was made to feel like my health was their main priority. If every patient is made to feel like I was through a very difficult and worrying time then the NHS is not getting the credit it deserves. This is the first time I have been into hospital in my life and I really just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everyone who went above and beyond their job to make me better. I even got a visit twice from the surgeon after my operation to check on my progress.
