From doctor referral to operation 16 weeks. Urogynocologist Consultant very personable, professional and friendly. I was fully informed of potential treatment options, benefits and risks. At no time did I feel rushed as the consultant spent time answering all my questions fully and with patience. The nursing staff in out-patients where friendly, considerate and respected privacy, especially as a number of procedures and investigations where quite personal, i.e urodynamic investigation. At no time did I feel uneasy, in fact I was always put at ease and felt comfortable and reassured. The physiotherapist provided me with all necessary information to help my post -operation recovery. Leaflets and practicing exercises were provided, so felt well informed and prepared for what I needed to do to help my own recovery. The operation process was well managed. The anesthetist was friendly and reassuring-put me at ease straight away, he had a good sense of humor and a "good bed side manner". Nursing staff and support staff on Ward 20C where kind, thoughtful and although busy, took time to ensure I was comfortable and well monitored post op. I went into hospital Thursday for my operation and came out Sunday. Checking out process was well managed and prescriptions were quickly provided along with advise and contact numbers if I had any concern. On Monday I needed some reassurance and they invited me back to check everything OK. Needless to say everything was alright, but the fact that they took the time to reassure me put my mind at rest. This can go a long way in helping recovery. If I was to make any negative comments it would be about the food ( although I was somewhat prepared for this by reading previous hospital reviews.) Own experiences included very salty soup and a warm and limp salad. Fortunately tea and biscuits offered throughout the day by staff, and husband brought in the odd sandwich and prepared fruit which helped counteract this minor inconvenience. My overall experience has been very positive. I could have gone to 1 of 4 hospitals in my area and have no regrets what so ever in my choice of consultant or my choice of Warrington hospital.
