"Positive changes following CBT"

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

At the start, I was uncertain how or if it was going to be possible to help me using CBT. I was constantly worried, concerned, had low self esteem/self worth following emergency surgeries from counselling with I. M and referred me.

Following an initial phone interview it was suggested that CBT may be best suited to my situation. Initially I had doubts as to whether, or if, something as difficult for me to quantify as CBT would help - but it did.

The practitioner and I now met on a weekly basis for 6 weeks, she is patient, kind and understanding. She showed me how it was possible to use various techniques to deal with life as I now know it, and dispel many of the concerns and pain I felt.

My family has also seen a positive change following these therapies.

Dear Ebb708,

Reading your post it sounds as though you have moved from feeling hopeless about your situation and whether CBT could help to feeling more hopeful and positive. I'm pleased your therapist was able to use CBT to help you deal with your life and hope this will help you in your future.

Best wishes

Tracey
