Having fractured my wrist I was advised by the excellent walk in centre to attend A & E of Royal Bolton Hospital. I can only say that I was dealt with professionalism. However, some two weeks later I attended Royal Bolton Hospital Fracture Unit for an operation on my wrist and was required to attend at 7.30am. i was asked to change into operating gear under my own dressing gown. I was kept waiting, however had no food or drink as required in a side room which was not very warm or comfortable for 7 and a half hours! Whilst I appreciate that others would take priority in emergencies arriving at the hospital. I do think that someone should have informed me of the delay and especially at my age, as you are somewhat apprehensive about the coming operation.
Subsequent to the forgoing experience, I attended treatment at Chorley and was satisfied with the service provided.
