"What happened to all the beds?"

About: St James's University Hospital

I can't give a review of this hospital as we are still waiting for them to transfer us to it. My son has been waiting in Airedale hospital for a week with a chest drain in for a collapsed lung. Every day for the past week, staff at Airedale have rung St. James to see when they can take my son as he needs a lung operation, and everyday they are told "we can't take him yet, we have no beds". It's a disgrace that when you need an operation to keep your lungs inflated that they can't find a bed!

Dear KT I am very sorry about the delay in providing your son with a bed. This is not the standard of care that we aim to provide. I hope that the situation has been resolved, however if you would like to contact the Trust's Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0113 2067168 or email patient.relations@leedsth.nhs.uk we would be pleased to investigate these events further.
