I fell off my bike on Tuesday afternoon. Woke next morning to find hand swollen, bruised and no better (I had waited to see if it would heal of its own accord). Went to Dewsbury hopsital on Wednesday. X-rayed, Told it was fine and they sent me home. They phoned next day and told me to come for another xray as they were no longer sure about its condition. Went. Told it was fractured and referred to Pinderfields, It took three hours for them to secure an appointment for me there. Went there same day and waited two hours at Pinderfields, then told by doctor to return at 7.30 am following day. Following day, went spent till 2.30 pm. and then told they were too busy to attend to me, told to come back following day at 7.30 am. They then phoned that evening to postpone it till Sunday. Went Sunday, arrived at 9.am, was given gown and wristband for theatre and told to wait. Waited until 2pm, doctor arrived and examined my hand and said she didn''t think it was broken and went to check xray, Waited another 30 minutes before leaving in desperation. Needless to say the whole episode has been a costly waste of time and money and I am still no nearer knowing if my hand is broken or indeed how it will heal. Exasperated and not a very happy bunny!!!!!!
