About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were very helpful to me, i was taken into A & E, then transfered for surgery. The surgical team informed me what was going on and explained everything to me in detail. I was followed up in outpatients promptly and had more surgery in July, i was told that i would have a 10 week wait and i did. I am now waiting for more surgery to take place in November, yet again this is a 10 week wait and things look to be on time again. I cannot fault the staff atall, they showed me respect and dignity at all times. My surgeon is a wonderful man and his team have always been professional and prompt with treatment. Information that has been needed has always been passed quickly and shared appropraitely.

Whilst being a patient at the hospital, i have recieved treatment from 2 different departments and cannot fault any care i recieved from either one, they have both been prompt and curteous. Also the gyneacology department have also helped with future plans for when i become pregnant, by discussing possible probelms already, so when the time comes it won't be a shock or disappointment if/when i need a caesarian.

I would recommend George Eliot hospital to my family and friends. The hospital has always seemed clean and appropriately staffed.

What could be improved

Shorter waiting times but surgery has to be prioritised, so i understand completely.
