I phoned the GP surgery initially but as it was closed the message said to phone the out of hours service.

When I called the 111 number they took all our details and asked a lot of questions about my husband – he had hurt himself. After this a doctor called and went through a few more questions. He said a doctor would come round to see my husband – it could take up to 4 hours. Actually the doctor came within 2 – 2 ½ hours.

He gave my husband a very good examination, diagnosed three broken ribs and advised him to move around every two hours and keep taking the painkillers he prescribed.

We were very, very pleased with everything they did.
