"KCH rating for infection control/cleanliness"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

To follow on from myrecent damning review of inpatient experiences and the not very clever PALs staff response (hardly a non interested party as the staff are KCH employees and will make the excuses they do in their response), Perhaps the rating for KCH on this tite, in terms of hygeine, infection control and cleanliness as being one of the worst squares up with my developing a serious illness without prompt treatment being instituted. Outpatient contacts do not equate with inpatient experiences for serious illness and if you are seriously ill I would not recommend KCH, Its staff are not of the highest standards. The cleaners actually cleaned my commode and then started to clean, with the same cloth, the bedside table I eat food on. that is the kind of people they employ. It makes me very distressed to think this kind of thing is allowed by a well paid CEO of an HS trust who clearly has no idea what happens to patients- using PALS as the way to ward off people.'...

Response from King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

I have previously offered contact details regarding how to register a complaint. That is the appropriate method of registering your concerns, having them formally investigated and then receiving a response from a member of the Trust board. My role is not to discourage people from their right to register a complaint and my comments are generic in nature.
