I was very scared of my Dad having to go to Southport as I have read all the reviews. My Dad had a devastating illness and was cared for in a and e and on 9a. The consultant registrar on a and e was a cold fish and not very helpful, bedside manner training required! However, the staff on the ward were outstanding. We slept there a few nights with Dad and there was a family room which was a godsend. Most of all I would like to say heartfelt thank you to all the staff on 9a you were wonderful! Particularly thanks to the nurses who were marvellous and so caring. Thanks to all the health care assistants who looked after my dad. You preserved his dignity at all times and looked after him when he was vulnerable. I am very grateful for all you did. Consultants and registrars need to take notice of how you do it! Heartfelt thanks.
"Thank you staff on 9a"
