"My eyes"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

I have recently attended the outpatient clinic of the "eye clinic" for injections into my eye to help drain fluid away from behind the eye.

My first appointment was a thorough eye examination and x-rays. I was very nervous and anxious of the treatment to be given, a needle in my eye! but the staff there were very good. They put me at ease, reassured me and explained the whole procedure to me even though they were very busy. The nurse even held my hand. I am 75!

They took their time with me and I would like to thank the staff for that. I have other appointments over the next few weeks and hope that the treatment given will allow the cataract to be removed successfully.

Dear Mrs Bingo Queen,

I have shared this post of appreciation with some of the staff within the eye department.

We are always pleased to hear that the care we strive to give under increasing pressures does make a difference to patients.

It's lovely that you took the time to share your experience.

Kind regards

Caroline
