My mother attended A and E on Monday June 9th and as noted in my previous review her care in that department was exemplary. Mum has only told me today that the lady who did the X ray was very rough and she was 'pushed about' She also informed me that the radiographer told her the she needed the X ray machine to be low and trapped her legs underneath it whilst she was on the trolley, mum said she was unable to move her legs as a result. She has been complaining of a soft tissue pain in her R breast and armpit , severe enough to prevent her from taking a deep breath, not a good thing in an 85yr old. An additional concern to me was that the lady doing the X-Ray was a student and mum says she was unsupervised and did not ask for help in positioning her. Should a risk assessment have been done before considering the safest way to undertake the X ray? I am appalled that she did not ask for help and she did not ask mum her history because she would have been made aware that mum has serious back problems and is disabled Thoroughly disgusted NB. She attended A and E but it is the X-ray department these comments are about
