Since I have arrived, I have changed bays twice in the space of less than 24 hours which I think is extremely unsatisfactory. It has caused me distress because everytime I settle in and get accustomed to my surroundings, it's as if 'oh someone more important needs this space you need to move'. Which probably is the case but still what about my needs? This in my opinion isn't treating a patient with dignity and respect. I feel the administering of medicine is slow with no real sense of urgency (I want to get out ASAP!) - I understand that the nurses may be busy, so why not employ more staff? Where the hell does all the nhs money go to? Most of the staff are kind and helpful don't get me wrong, bar one incident I had when asked if I had any pain and I said no but find i difficult to breathe - she said ok and walked away. ?! I hate to be negative but I've only been here 20 hours and I already feel this way. I feel I have to keep reminding the nurses of things and I have put in a few requests that have obviously been forgotten about (i.e when I would be able to see a doctor, said they would check but never got back to me, saw him next day) I know nothing is perfect but still... Not really good enough
